Terms of use
Pilot draft, 20 October 2026
These terms cover the Power Architect desktop application, the account you sign in with, and the services the application uses through that account (together, “Power Architect”). Power Architect is provided by [legal entity, address] (“we”). By installing or using Power Architect you accept these terms.
1. The pilot
Power Architect is pre-release software offered by invitation to a small number of customers. Features, limits and these terms may change between builds. There is no service-level commitment during the pilot. Builds update themselves from our release server; you can stop updates only by uninstalling.
2. Your account
- An account is for one person, identified by the email address the invitation went to. Signing in uses a link sent to that address; keep access to that mailbox secure.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts the service or other customers at risk, or is unpaid. Your project files stay on your computer either way.
3. Plans and usage
- Your plan gives a monthly usage allowance in US dollars. Every model request and part search is counted against it at the provider's list price; the app shows your usage for the month.
- When the allowance is used up, new model requests are refused until the next month or until we raise the cap. Requests already running finish, so a month can end slightly above the cap.
- During the pilot, plans and caps are set by us and invoiced separately [or: free of charge].
4. What the software does on your computer
Power Architect's agents write and run code on your computer. Calculations, simulations and file conversions run in a Python environment and in tools such as ngspice, KiCad and Freerouting, with the privileges of your Windows user account, like any coding agent. That code can read, change and delete files your user account can access, and use your network connection. The agents are instructed to work inside the project folder, but this is not a security boundary.
- Use Power Architect under a user account and on a machine where that is acceptable to you and your organisation.
- Each step is a git checkpoint in the project folder, which lets you undo the agents' changes to the project. It is not a backup of your computer; keep your own backups.
- Downloads the app makes for you (KiCad, Java, Freerouting) come from our release server and their publishers, and are checked against published SHA-256 hashes.
5. Engineering results are your responsibility
Power Architect produces requirements, calculations, simulations, schematics, layouts, firmware and documents with the help of AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable, even when they cite a tool run. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying every result before you build, sell or rely on it, and for safety, regulatory and certification requirements. Do not use results in safety-critical or life-supporting applications without independent engineering review.
6. Your designs and data
- You keep all rights to your project files and to what Power Architect produces for you. We claim no ownership of them.
- To answer you, the application sends model requests (your messages and the project content the agents work on) through our gateway to our model provider, Anthropic, under Anthropic's commercial terms. We do not use your content to train models, and Anthropic does not either under those terms. [Zero data retention with Anthropic: requested / in place.]
- What else leaves your computer, and how to switch it off, is in the privacy policy.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not share your account, resell access, or use the gateway for anything other than Power Architect.
- Do not try to get around plan limits, or reverse engineer or attack the gateway or the release server.
- Follow Anthropic's usage policies for the content you send through the models.
8. Third-party software and services
Power Architect includes or downloads software from other publishers under their own licences. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.

| MinGit (Git for Windows) | in the installer, unmodified | GPL-2.0; source at the Git for Windows release page |
| ngspice 46 | in the installer, unmodified | BSD-3-Clause |
| KiCad 10 and its libraries | downloaded at first run | GPL-3.0-or-later; libraries CC-BY-SA-4.0 with exception |
| Eclipse Temurin Java 21 | downloaded at first run | GPL-2.0 with Classpath Exception |
| Freerouting | downloaded at first run | GPL-3.0 |
| FEMM 4.2 | link only; you install it | FEMM's own licence |

The list of the bundled runtimes with versions and source links is installed with the app in resources\tools\THIRD-PARTY-RUNTIMES.md. Part data shown in the app comes from DigiKey through our gateway and is subject to [DigiKey API terms, once reviewed].
9. No warranty; limitation of liability
Power Architect is provided “as is” during the pilot, without warranties of any kind. [Limitation of liability, governing law and venue: to be written with counsel.]
10. Ending, changes, contact
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app; tell us if you want your account closed. We will tell you by email before changes to these terms take effect. Questions: [contact email].
